About the Role
This is a permanent, full-time receptionist position based at Dovecote Veterinary Hospital in Castle Donington, Derbyshire. You'll work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday with a share in the weekend rota, making you a crucial first point of contact for clients and their beloved pets.

Key Responsibilities
- Handle incoming calls and schedule appointments efficiently, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Greet and register new clients with warmth, creating a welcoming first impression
- Respond to client queries via phone, email, and in-person interactions with professionalism and care
- Process and manage insurance forms accurately and adeptly
- Dispense medications as required
- Process financial transactions and payments accurately and efficiently
- Organise patient records using the in-house system with precision
- Liaise with other veterinary practices to address patient needs and queries
- Handle debt and refund management, making necessary calls with professionalism
- Provide empathy and emotional support to clients during distressing times while maintaining composure
- Ensure every client feels welcomed and valued at the practice
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Receptionist is essential; veterinary reception experience is a bonus
- Outstanding customer service skills and proven experience working with the public
- Strong communication skills paired with genuine empathy
- Resilience and ability to handle emotional situations with professionalism and grace
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems
- Positive attitude and superior teamwork abilities
- Right to Work in the UK (visa sponsorship not available for this role)
