Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

Join Cundall & Duffy Veterinary Centre as a Veterinary Receptionist and help keep the practice running smoothly for clients and their pets. This is a permanent role based in Scarborough, with 40 hours per week, and part-time applications will also be considered.

You will work Monday to Friday on a varied shift pattern between 08.30 and 18.30, plus a shared Saturday rota from 08.45 to 12.15. The role centres on welcoming clients, handling enquiries and supporting day to day reception activity in a busy small animal practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and arrange appointments
• Respond to queries by phone, email and in person
• Welcome new clients and complete registration
• Process and manage insurance forms
• Dispense medications as required
• Take payments accurately and efficiently
• Provide reassurance and empathy to clients during difficult moments
• Use the in-house system to organise patients
• Liaise with other veterinary practices when needed
• Handle calls relating to debts, belongings and refunds

Requirements

• Previous receptionist experience is required
• Veterinary reception experience is a bonus
• Strong communication skills
• Empathy and resilience when dealing with emotional situations
• Good customer service skills and experience working with the public
• Positive teamwork skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems
• Right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for clinical support roles
