About the Role
You’ll be joining Regan Veterinary Group as a Veterinary Receptionist, based at 30 Little Lane, Goose Green, Wigan, WN3 6PX. The role is 37 hours per week, worked across 4 days between Monday and Friday, plus a 1:4 share of the Saturday rota.
This is a varied front-of-house position where you’ll be the first point of contact for clients and their pets. The practice is part of CVS Veterinary Group, and the listing highlights a culture built around caring, supporting, learning and progressing.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming calls and book appointments efficiently
- Handle questions by phone, email and in person with professionalism
- Welcome new clients and register them at reception
- Process insurance forms and manage payments accurately
- Dispense medication when required
- Support clients with empathy during difficult times
- Use the in-house system to organise patients
- Liaise with other veterinary practices regarding patient needs and queries
- Make calls relating to debts, belongings and refunds
- Ensure clients feel welcomed and valued at the practice
Requirements
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in another demanding, client-focused role
- Veterinary practice experience is a bonus
- Experience with administrative tasks, including rota scheduling and absence management
- Strong communication skills and genuine empathy
- Resilience when handling emotional situations
- Excellent customer service and confidence dealing with the public
- A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems
- Right to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available for clinical support roles
