About the Role

Valley Veterinary Group is seeking a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon for its Kilmarnock and Stewarton practices in Scotland. The role is based around a 20 hour week, with Saturday cover worked on a 1 in 5 rota and no on-call required.

This is a first-opinion GP position with a clear consulting focus, alongside lab result interpretation, case planning, prescription oversight, and support for the nursing and reception teams. Some surgical experience for routine procedures is required, and the practice is open about offering support and training to help you develop further.

The post is set in a two-site practice 20 minutes south of Glasgow and around 10 minutes from the Ayrshire coast, with relocation packages available to help make the move easier.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Small animal veterinary surgeon.

About the Practice

Valley Veterinary Group is a two-site practice in Kilmarnock and Stewarton, Scotland. The main surgery is purpose-built and RCVS-accredited, and the practice also operates as an SVN training practice.

The team has around 20 people in practice and works with modern equipment including dental radiography, endoscopy, and recently upgraded ultrasound. The practice has also received 5 RCVS Outstanding Practice Standard Awards.
