This is a three-year clinical training post in veterinary neurology and neurosurgery at Bristol Vet Specialists in Bristol, with a planned start date of July 2027. You will be supervised and supported by four ECVN-boarded specialist neurologists as you prepare for the ECVN diploma examination at the end of the programme.
The role sits within a specialist referral setting that includes a multidisciplinary team covering internal medicine, oncology, cardiology, soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, anaesthesia, imaging, dermatology, dentistry and ophthalmology. The hospital is described as newly purpose built and state of the art, with advanced medical equipment including a LINAC machine for radiation therapy treatment.
The neurology service includes four ECVN-boarded diplomats, a neurology resident, a neurology intern and three nurses with a dedicated role in running the service. Bristol Vet Specialists also receives cases from across the country.
The role is based at Bristol Vet Specialists, previously known as Highcroft Vet Referrals, in a newly purpose built specialist hospital in Avonmouth. The practice provides a state of the art neurology and neurosurgery service alongside a broad referral team.
The residency training programme was approved by the ECVN education committee in April 2019.
