About the Role

You’ll be joining Davies Veterinary Specialists, one of the largest and most diverse small animal referral centres in Europe, as a Patient Care Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week with 1:4 weekend rota cover. Based at Manor Farm Business Park in Higham Gobion, Hertfordshire, you’ll play a vital part in the patient experience by providing hands-on care to patients whilst maintaining the cleanliness, organisation and stock levels that keep the practice running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct hands-on care to patients, including assisting with feeding, medication administration, and comfort care
  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation across treatment areas and wards
  • Monitor and manage stock levels, ordering supplies as needed
  • Support nurses and interns in their daily duties and clinical tasks
  • Ensure the smooth running of the practice through efficient patient care and facility management
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced, varied environment with a diverse caseload

Requirements

  • High levels of organisation and attention to detail
  • Physical, mental and emotional stamina to work with very ill patients
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced working environment
  • Strong motivation to deliver outstanding client and patient care
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Previous animal care experience is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided
