This is an exciting opportunity to join Dick White Referrals as an Anaesthesia Registered Veterinary Nurse, working within a dedicated nursing team under the direction of a Veterinary Anaesthesia Specialist or Resident. You’ll be at the heart of the anaesthesia process—from perioperative planning through to patient recovery—managing sedation, pain assessment, and analgesia provision across a variety of procedures and imaging modalities including surgery, MRI, CT, X-ray, ultrasound, and medical interventions.
The role offers genuine variety: you’ll support patients through different departments and case types, building your experience in a collaborative, teaching-focused environment. You’ll also be responsible for equipment setup, stock management, and accurate patient record-keeping. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, with flexible options for compressed hours (4 x 10-hour or 5 x 8-hour shifts). You’ll participate in an on-call rota for weekends and weeknights alongside senior anaesthetists and residents, with additional Bank Holiday cover required.
Based at Dick White Referrals in Cambridgeshire—Europe’s largest specialist multi-disciplinary veterinary referral centre—you’ll be working in state-of-the-art facilities with access to nationally and internationally recognised specialists across anaesthesia, cardiology, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, emergency and critical care, internal medicine, neurology, oncology, orthopaedic surgery, physiotherapy, and soft tissue surgery.
