About the Role

You’ll be joining a thriving five-site practice as a Registered Veterinary Nurse, based primarily at the Frome surgery—a 24/7 small animal hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to build your clinical expertise across multiple sites while contributing to the development of the practice’s newly installed CT unit and expanding nursing capability.

The role combines day shifts, weekend work, and participation in the practice’s out-of-hours rota. You’ll rotate across Garston’s five locations (Frome, Warminster, Trowbridge, Westbury, and Melksham), gaining varied clinical exposure and the chance to specialise in areas that interest you, from dentistry and infection control to sustainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver nursing care across multiple Garston Vets sites, with your primary base at Frome
  • Perform Schedule 3 procedures as part of your clinical remit
  • Support the development and utilisation of the Frome surgery’s new CT unit
  • Participate in the practice’s out-of-hours rota alongside day and weekend shifts
  • Contribute to specialist groups including the Patient Safety Team (HALO), CPD Delivery, Sustainability, and Wellbeing initiatives
  • Develop specialist expertise as a Clinical Champion in areas such as Dentistry, Infection Control, or Sustainability, with opportunities to influence practice and network-wide standards

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Enthusiasm for clinical development and varied caseload work
  • Willingness to participate in out-of-hours duties and weekend shifts
  • Interest in contributing to team initiatives and specialist groups
