Glasgow Forge Vets4Pets
Apply before: Apr 17, 2026
No out-of-hours cover required. 1:3 weekend rota (Saturdays 9am–5pm) with a day in lieu after working a Saturday.
You’ll be joining an established small animal practice just 10 minutes outside Glasgow city centre—perfectly positioned for both urban convenience and countryside access to Loch Lomond. This is a full-time or part-time role with genuine flexibility: whether you prefer four longer days, five shorter days, or need to finish early for childcare, the team will work with you to build a rota that actually fits your life. There’s no out-of-hours commitment, and you’ll work a manageable 1:3 weekend rota covering Saturdays (9am–5pm) with a day back in lieu.
The practice has invested in new equipment including an ultrasound machine and actively encourages vets to develop specialisms—whether that’s cardiology (their practice owner Struan is currently studying), surgery, medicine, dentistry, dermatology, or something else entirely. The team welcomes mentors and those interested in teaching, regularly hosting EMS students from Glasgow University.
You’ll work alongside a tight-knit clinical team of 4 vets (2 full-time, 2 part-time), 5 RVNs, 2 SVNs, a practice manager, and an experienced reception team. Two nurses are clinical coaches, and many team members have been with the practice for years—a testament to its family-like culture. Importantly, your nurses conduct their own consultations and undertake Schedule 3 procedures, freeing vets to focus on their own work without being stretched thin.
