Part-Time Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

Join Goddard Veterinary Group's long-established South Woodford practice as a part-time veterinary surgeon working 30 hours per week. You'll enjoy the independence that sole charge brings whilst benefiting from collaboration with an experienced Senior Vet on your crossover days and support from an established nursing team. The practice is nestled in one of East London's leafiest suburbs, just eight minutes' walk from the Central Line, with Epping Forest nearby for countryside escapes.

Your rota includes a 1 in 4 branch Saturday and 1 in 8 Sunday rotation at Wanstead Hospital, plus up to two bank holidays annually. Once settled, you'll join the last resort on-call at Wanstead. A dedicated hospital induction day is included as part of your onboarding to ensure confidence before your first shift. Clinical support is backed by a 24-hour Wanstead Hospital for complex referrals and out-of-hours care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first opinion small animal veterinary care at the South Woodford branch
• Build lasting relationships with clients and patients through quality consultations
• Participate in branch rota commitments including Saturday and Sunday shifts at Wanstead Hospital
• Engage in clinical discussions and collaborate with the wider veterinary and nursing team
• Support complex cases with access to Wanstead Hospital's 24-hour services
• Contribute to the delivery of high-standard patient care within a supportive practice culture

Requirements

• Qualified veterinary surgeon (MRCVS)
• Confident in sole charge practice
• Experience in first opinion small animal medicine preferred
• Willingness to participate in branch Saturday and Sunday rotas at Wanstead Hospital

About the Practice

Goddard Veterinary Group is a large, forward-looking veterinary organisation with 46 branches, three hospitals, and its own nurse training college. In 2022 the group celebrated its 70th anniversary. The South Woodford branch is a first opinion practice supported by the group's regional management structure and the 24-hour Wanstead Hospital.
