About the Role

Hackney is one of Goddard Vet Group's most active practices, serving a vibrant, creative neighbourhood in East London. You'll work in a fast-paced environment with a diverse caseload, supported by a consult and minor ops clinic in nearby Highbury for more complex surgical cases. This role offers genuine variety: daily consultations, surgical procedures, emergency triage, and exposure to a broad range of presentations.

The practice has invested recently in new ultrasound facilities and boasts two consulting rooms, a large prep and theatre area, separate cat and dog wards, and a well-equipped lab. You'll work a 36-hour week including a 1:4 Saturday rota (branch-level) and 1:8 Sunday rotation (hospital-level). You will be rota'd to up to 2 bank holidays per year in Wanstead and be involved in a last resort on-call rotation.

You'll be part of a tight-knit team of two other vets, a senior RVN, additional nursing staff, and trainees who pride themselves on their collaborative dynamic. You're just 6 minutes from London Fields Overground station, with easy connections across North and East London.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver consultations and surgical cases as part of a two-vet team
• Manage triage and emergency cases, with support from the on-site senior RVN and nursing team
• Contribute to the practice's evolving surgical and diagnostic capabilities, including ultrasound work
• Support the satellite consult and minor ops clinic in Highbury with surgical cases
• Participate in the branch Saturday and hospital Sunday rotas
• Contribute to bank holiday cover at Wanstead 24-hour Hospital as required
• Engage in last-resort on-call duties

Requirements

• MRCVS registration or eligible to register with the RCVS
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, busy practice environment
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team
• Willingness to participate in shared rota duties including Saturdays and Sundays
