Goddard's Kingston practice is seeking a veterinary surgeon to take the helm of this well-established first opinion clinic housed in a stunning period building. You'll work a 4-day week with a manageable 1:4 Saturday rota (shared between Kingston and Ham) and 1:10 Sunday shifts at Stone Lion 24-hour hospital in Wimbledon. There are no on-call requirements, giving you genuine time away from work.
The caseload is perfectly pitched for a GP vet stepping into sole charge. Your days will flow naturally from morning consultations through routine surgeries, admin time, and evening clinics. You'll have full support from an experienced RVN and passionate trainee nurse on site, plus a regional head vet available for any clinical queries or concerns. Kingston's client base is notably loyal and bonded, with many returning since the 1990s.
The practice itself is a joy to work in: a large, naturally lit consulting room overlooks the garden (foxes included), and there's a spacious colleague area. The facility includes digital x-ray, a brand new lab suite for on-site diagnostics, and dental capabilities. For more complex cases or when your patients need 24-hour care, Stone Lion Hospital in Wimbledon is your local referral partner.
Kingston upon Thames itself is a gem. It's just a 6-minute walk to Norbiton train station, within a 50-minute journey to central London, and a 10-minute walk to Richmond Park and the River Thames.
Goddard Veterinary Group is a well-established practice group celebrating over 70 years in veterinary care. The organisation now operates 46 branches, three hospitals, and its own nurse training college (GVNC). Goddard is part of the VetPartners family and is RCVS accredited. The group is known for its collaborative, forward-thinking culture: all senior managers are mental health first aid trained, wellness plans are offered to all new starters, and staff input is actively sought through a Colleague Forum and monthly Town Hall meetings with the board.
The Kingston branch itself is a jewel in the Goddard portfolio, serving a loyal client base in a historic market town with excellent transport links to London.
