About the Role

Holly House Veterinary Clinic is recruiting a Pharmacy Patient Care Assistant to join their clinical support team at the Moor Allerton branch in Leeds. This is a newly created permanent part-time position working 28 hours per week with flexible shift patterns to suit the right candidate. You’ll be at the heart of a busy dispensary, supporting both the pharmaceutical operations and the wider clinical team in a practice that combines general first-opinion care with mid-tier referral work. With no weekend work or out-of-hours commitments, this role offers genuine work-life balance while you develop valuable expertise in patient care, customer service, and pharmaceutical operations.

The practice is conveniently located near Roundhay Park in north Leeds with excellent transport links, making it accessible whether you’re commuting from across the city or the surrounding areas. You’ll be working alongside a passionate team of 10 vets, 10 RVNs (including a dedicated night nurse team), 6 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and 10 receptionists who deliver 24-hour wraparound care across the hospital, general practice clinics, and specialist exotics-only practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare medications for dispensing in accordance with veterinary surgeon instructions and RCVS guidelines
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while providing hands-on support to vets and nurses in the consulting room
  • Manage stock control and rotation: receive deliveries, store medications correctly, and oversee stock take systems
  • Place orders with suppliers, monitor stock levels, and track wastage to maintain efficient operations
  • Support clinical teams with cleaning and infection control protocols across the clinic
  • Assist with laboratory work including ordering supplies and organising reports

  • Commitment to delivering high standards of patient care and maintaining practice standards
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills for pharmacy and stock management
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Willingness to learn and develop knowledge in pharmaceutical operations and clinical support

About the Practice

Holly House Veterinary Clinic is an established general practice with a 30-year history in the Moor Allerton area of Leeds. The practice combines first-opinion care with mid-tier referral work, including certificate holder-led departments in surgery, dentistry, and exotics. Facilities include purpose-built consulting rooms, an isolation ward, and a spacious prep and theatre suite equipped with multiparameter monitoring for anaesthesia and a ventilator. The team treats dogs, cats, small pets, and exotic animals, handling both routine and complex cases to exceptionally high standards.
