About the Role
This is a full-time, permanent Veterinary Care Assistant position at Lady Dane Vets, based in Faversham and supporting the Whitstable practice too. The role runs for 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 5.30pm.
You’ll be part of a team supporting clinical and client care, helping the practice run smoothly and safely while working under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse. The practices treat dogs, cats and small pets, and the Whitstable site is recently refurbished and just a few minutes’ walk from a beach, shops and restaurants.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the clinical team with inpatient care, patient handling and restraint.
- Help deliver a positive and compassionate experience for patients and clients.
- Provide client care and reception support.
- Assist with patient care and animal handling.
- Carry out pharmacy tasks, including unpacking orders, stock rotation, stock takes and labelling items.
- Clean and care for equipment, including the maintenance and sterilisation of veterinary instruments.
- Help maintain asepsis and cleanliness across clinical areas, including laundry.
- Support laboratory duties.

About the Practice
Lady Dane Vets in Faversham is described as a purpose-built, spacious site with ample parking, large consult rooms and separate dog and cat waiting areas. It is located next to a large pet store and is easily reached from the A2, with links to Canterbury, London and coastal destinations.
The role also covers the smaller Whitstable practice, which has been recently refurbished. The practice sits only a few minutes’ walk from a beach, as well as novelty shops and restaurants, and the town hosts the annual Oyster Festival.
