About the Role
This part-time Veterinary Care Assistant position is based at Manor Vets in Halesowen, working as part of a six-branch practice in and around the Birmingham area. The rota includes Monday to Friday shifts between 8am and 7.30pm, Saturday mornings from 8.30am to 12.30pm, and Bank Holidays on a rota basis with TOIL.
You will be expected to work across any of the six branches, supporting the clinical team and helping the practice run smoothly and safely. The role is back of house and includes cleaning the practice, preparing equipment and consulting rooms, and supporting the wider team. The practice treats dogs, cats and small pets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the clinical team with patient and client care.
- Work under the direction of a Veterinary Surgeon or Registered Veterinary Nurse.
- Assist with inpatient care and patient handling and restraint.
- Help maintain clinical areas and equipment.
- Carry out back of house duties, including cleaning the practice.
- Prepare equipment and consulting rooms.
- Work across any of the six branches when required.
Requirements
- Reliable, motivated and comfortable working as part of a team.
- A caring, professional approach with a genuine interest in animal welfare.
- Good communication skills with colleagues and clients.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks in a busy environment.
- A proactive attitude to learning and openness to feedback and development.
- Experience of working with animals in a clinical or non-clinical setting is advantageous.

About the Practice
Manor Vets is part of inspiring vet care and has six branches in and around the Birmingham area. The Halesowen site is at 113 to 119 Kent Road, Halesowen, B62 8PB, in the West Midlands, on the outskirts of Birmingham.
Across the surgeries, the practice offers CT scanning, digital x-ray, ultrasound, digital dental x-ray, endoscopy, ECG, and in-house haematology, biochemistry and blood gases. The practice cares for dogs, cats and small pets.
