Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You'll be the first point of contact for every client and patient walking through the doors of The Veterinary Centre in Glasgow. This part-time role offers genuine flexibility: 30 hours spread across three days a week (8:30am to 7:30pm), plus one Saturday in three. You'll work in a modern, well-equipped practice with full operating theatres, digital radiography, in-house laboratory facilities, dental suite, and ultrasound services.

Your days will be busy but rewarding, managing the flow of appointments, client enquiries, and communications while supporting the whole team. You'll develop strong relationships with regular clients and be part of a collaborative, values-led practice culture focused on care and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer telephone calls and manage enquiries promptly and professionally
• Book and manage appointments, liaising with clinical colleagues to keep the schedule running smoothly
• Order medications and manage practice supplies
• Handle client queries with patience and attention to detail
• Support clients before and after appointments, ensuring a positive experience
• Process card and cash payments accurately
• Manage email enquiries and maintain professional client communications

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional manner
• Experience in a customer-facing role with strong focus on service and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment
• Collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
• Proactive attitude with openness to feedback and learning
