Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This is a part-time fixed-term Veterinary Receptionist role at Usk Veterinary Centre, based in Usk, Wales. The contract is for 6 months and the working pattern is 20 hours per week, with hours between 1pm and 7pm Monday to Friday, plus some Saturday mornings.

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, helping to create a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction. The practice is a two-site small animal team in the heart of Monmouthshire, with its branch surgery within a ten-minute drive. The setting also places you close to Usk town, the Brecon Beacons, and within a 45-minute drive of both Cardiff and Bristol.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients professionally and answer telephone enquiries promptly.
• Manage appointments, including booking, cancelling and rearranging.
• Record enquiries, pass them on and follow them up.
• Process payments, use the PDQ machine and allocate transactions on the system.
• Promote services, manage debt control and cash up daily.
• Keep the reception area clean and process clinic emails.
• Attend team meetings regularly.
