Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

This part-time fixed-term Receptionist role is based at Spring Lodge Veterinary Group in Witham. The position is 31 hours a week and the rota covers all branches, with flexibility across shift patterns that run from 7:45 am or 8:00 am through to 7:00 pm or 7:15 pm, including Saturdays and occasional full-day shifts.

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, helping to create a welcoming and professional experience at every interaction. The role sits at the heart of a busy practice environment, working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to support a smooth client and patient journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients in a friendly, professional and courteous way
• Answer telephone calls and handle enquiries promptly
• Book, cancel and manage appointments
• Take cash and card payments
• Process insurance claims and instalment enquiries
• Carry out cash reconciliation and end-of-day banking
• Dispense medications and prescriptions
• Keep client and patient records accurate
• Manage and respond to clinic emails
• Complete daily administrative paperwork, including lab reports, consent forms and vaccination documents
• Keep reception areas, client information and retail products stocked and presentable
• Liaise with charities about collection boxes
• Attend reception team meetings when required
