Farm Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a full-time position offering a four-day working week alongside a 1 in 4 out-of-hours rota, alternating between first and second on call. You'll be based in a picturesque part of Norfolk and Suffolk, with easy access to the coast, Norwich, and excellent transport links to London.

You'll join an experienced team of 10 farm vets and 1 TB Tester at a large, progressive practice with a strong focus on routine herd health work and preventative health planning. The practice works primarily with cattle (both dairy and beef), while also providing services for small ruminants. You'll have access to modern tools including VetImpress software and its cow-side data analysis app to support clinical decision-making.

You'll collaborate with the wider team to deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload, while continuing to develop your clinical skills and interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-standard patient and client care across routine medical and surgical cases
• Work collaboratively with 10 farm vets and support team to manage a busy herd health caseload
• Build and maintain strong relationships with an engaged client base focused on long-term farm business outcomes
• Contribute positively to the practice's clinical culture and support the development of colleagues
• Provide routine herd health consultations, preventative planning, and clinical support to dairy and beef operations
• Work with small ruminant clients as required
• Participate in out-of-hours emergency cover on a 1 in 4 rota (alternating first and second on call)

Requirements

• Veterinary degree and RCVS registration (or eligibility to register)
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
• Strong communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
• Proactive approach to learning, openness to feedback and professional development
• Professionalism, reliability, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Commitment to delivering excellent patient and client care
