This is a full time Equine Head Veterinary Nurse position at Donnington Grove Vets, based in Newbury. You will provide senior clinical and professional leadership for the nursing team, oversee nursing activity across the practice and help deliver high quality patient and client care.
The role combines leadership, governance and hands on clinical work. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, on shifts between 8 am and 8:30 pm with a one hour lunch break. There is no weekend work, although participation in the OOH rota when required is essential, including summer bank holidays and Christmas and New Year.
Donnington Grove has a high caseload with routine and emergency cases every day, plus a training focus that supports several student Nurses working towards their Level 3 Diploma in Equine Nursing. The practice is established, has two branch practices in Thatcham and Tadley, and is based in Newbury on the edge of the North Wessex Downs AONB.
Donnington Grove Vets is an established practice with a main hospital in Newbury, RCVS Tier 3 hospital status and two branch practices in Thatcham and Tadley. The practice handles a high equine caseload, including routine and emergency work, and has facilities for imaging and surgery at any time of day or night.
The equipment listed includes digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound with colour Doppler, endoscopy, Enseal, arthroscopy, an operating microscope, microsurgical equipment, slit lamp and Tonovet. The site also supports student Nurses working towards their Level 3 Diploma in Equine Nursing.
