Receptionist

About the Role

You'll be the first point of contact for clients arriving at GKG Vets, a compassionate small animal practice in Newbury dedicated to delivering high-quality, friendly veterinary care. This part-time permanent role works 24 hours per week across weekdays and one Saturday in four, giving you a manageable schedule that fits around your life.

Your role is essential to the smooth running of the practice. You'll manage the appointment diary, answer phones, process payments, and support both clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure every client and patient feels welcomed and valued. It's a role where you'll directly shape the experience families have when they visit with their pets.

Key Responsibilities

• Greeting clients and their pets with warmth, professionalism and genuine care
• Answering telephone enquiries and responding to client requests efficiently and compassionately
• Managing the appointment diary and booking consultations effectively
• Processing payments and maintaining accurate client account records
• Supporting the clinical team with day-to-day practice operations
• Maintaining up-to-date client and patient records
• Assisting with administrative tasks across the wider practice team
• Delivering excellent customer service that makes every client feel supported

Requirements

• Experience in a customer-facing role with strong attention to detail
