About the Role

Park Veterinary Centre is a well-established first opinion small animal practice with over 100 years of history serving Hertfordshire. This full-time or part-time position offers a rare combination of clinical depth and genuine support for nursing development. Based in Watford with direct rail links to London in around 35 minutes, you'll work alongside an experienced, long-standing team that brings real clinical expertise and a genuine commitment to animal welfare and behaviour.

The practice is well-equipped with laparoscopy, endoscopy, ultrasound, digital and dental radiography, plus comprehensive modern monitoring equipment, enabling you to manage a varied and rewarding caseload. With a flexible rota of up to 4 days Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays until 4.30pm and 1 in 12 Saturday mornings, you'll have structured predictability alongside Saturday day commitments typical of first opinion practice.

As a training practice with a long history of mentoring students and newly qualified nurses, this is an excellent environment to grow your clinical confidence and nursing passions.

Key Responsibilities

• Theatre nursing, carrying out complex surgeries
• Inpatient care and monitoring

• Contributing to clinical standards and ongoing patient care development

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice, with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively
• A proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
