About the Role
This Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon role is based at Stonehenge Vets in Durrington and offers 24.5 hours across 3 days, with some flexibility around the working pattern for the right person. There is also a 1:5 Saturday rota, 9am to 2pm, with no out of hours commitments or on call.
You will see a varied first opinion caseload, mainly cats and dogs with the occasional rabbit or small furry. The role includes a good mix of consulting and operating, with routine procedures, dentistry, imaging and case continuity at its core.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out consulting and surgery across a varied first opinion caseload
- Work with predominantly cats and dogs, plus occasional rabbits and small furries
- Manage routine procedures, dentistry and imaging cases
- Follow cases through from first visit to completion where possible
- Work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver patient and client care
- Contribute to the clinical culture and share knowledge with colleagues
Requirements
- Veterinary degree and RCVS registration, or eligibility to register
- Experience in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
- Proactive approach to learning and openness to feedback
- Professionalism, reliability and the ability to work independently and collaboratively

About the Practice
Stonehenge Vets and Sidbury Hill Vets are part of IVC Evidensia and operate as a busy two branch practice, with the sites around 10 minutes apart. The Durrington practice is purpose built and currently undergoing a refresh.
The team includes 7 Veterinary Surgeons, 6 RVNs, 2 SVNs, a Client Care Team and a Practice Manager. The practice also has a certificate holder in Internal Medicine, along with visiting specialists in Cardiology and Ophthalmology. Facilities include digital X-ray, ultrasound and dental equipment.
