This is a full-time or part-time Veterinary Ophthalmologist opportunity within a well-established referral hospital in Abbotskerswell, near Newton Abbot. The role offers up to 32 hours per week, with flexible working patterns available to suit both you and the needs of the service.
You’ll be joining a small, passionate Ophthalmology team within a wider hospital that provides referrals across Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, CT scanning and Cardiology. The service has a dedicated theatre and specialist equipment, and the hospital also offers 24-hour nursing support for inpatients.
The location gives you access to both Dartmoor and the South Devon coastline, with Newton Abbot described as a thriving market town and nearby M5 and rail links to Exeter, Bristol, London and Cornwall.
South Devon Veterinary Hospital and Referrals is a well-established hospital and referral centre based in Abbotskerswell, near Newton Abbot. It provides referral services across Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, CT scanning and Cardiology, with 24-hour nursing support for inpatients.
The Ophthalmology service has a dedicated theatre and specialist diagnostic and surgical equipment, including slit lamps, AMO Whitestar Phaco, an operating microscope, a Fundus camera and high-resolution ocular ultrasound. The wider hospital also includes onsite CT, digital X-ray, endoscopy, laparoscopy, thoracoscopy and ultrasound. The Ophthalmology team includes an ECVO Diplomate, and the wider clinical team includes 9 Vets, 15 RVNs, 3 SVNs and 3 VCAs.
