Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You'll be the first point of contact for clients at Emscote Vets, a well-equipped small animal practice in the heart of historic Warwick. This part-time role (20 hours per week, including one Saturday morning in four) offers the perfect balance for someone who loves working with people and pets in a supportive, collaborative environment. Warwick is a charming market town with excellent transport links, home to Warwick Castle, riverside walks, and a vibrant selection of restaurants and cafes, making it a wonderful place to work.

You'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the practice's exceptional reputation for customer care. The team is passionate about delivering a positive experience at every interaction, supported by advanced diagnostic tools including digital x-ray, ultrasound, and an in-house laboratory.

Key Responsibilities

• Greeting clients and pets with a warm, professional manner
• Managing appointments using the Practice Management System
• Answering phone enquiries and responding to emails and website queries
• Registering new clients and processing payments and daily banking
• Guiding clients to the appropriate service based on their needs
• Maintaining the reception waiting area to a clean and professional standard
• Supporting the clinical and non-clinical team in their daily duties

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Previous customer-facing experience with a strong focus on service and attention to detail
• Computer literacy and proficiency with Practice Management Systems (or willingness to learn)
• Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a busy environment
• A friendly, organised, and professional manner
• Empathy with pet-owning clients and a collaborative approach to teamwork
• Proactive attitude with openness to feedback and continuous learning
