About the Role

This small animal Veterinary Surgeon role at St Marys Veterinary Clinic in Ferndown offers first-opinion medicine and surgery with a varied caseload, predominantly cats and dogs. You’ll have the chance to manage cases from start to finish, covering consultations, routine preventative care, everyday medical cases, soft tissue surgery, dentistry and more complex presentations.

The practice is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon, not a new graduate, and it encourages individual clinical interests too. Whether your focus is consulting, surgery, dentistry, imaging or another area of veterinary medicine, you’ll be supported to develop the work you enjoy most.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-opinion care for a predominantly cat and dog caseload.
• Manage consultations, routine preventative care and everyday medical cases.
• Carry out soft tissue surgery, dentistry and more complex presentations.
• Work cases through from start to finish with clinical freedom.
• Collaborate across St Marys and sister practice Aniwell Vets when needed.
• Contribute to the clinical development of your own interests within the practice.

Requirements

• Experience as a Veterinary Surgeon is required.
• This role is not suitable for new graduates.
• Interest in one or more of the following is supported, consulting, surgery, dentistry, imaging or another area of veterinary medicine.

About the Practice

St Marys Veterinary Clinic is an established first-opinion practice in Ferndown, part of IVC Evidensia. The team is growing alongside its sister practice, Aniwell Vets, with investment being made in people, facilities and the future.

Facilities listed in the advert include digital and dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. A full refurbishment of St Marys is also planned.
