This permanent position offers a flexible, tailored approach to primary care work. You'll collaborate with the wider practice team to deliver high-quality patient and client care across a varied caseload. The practice can adapt the role to suit your preferences, whether you want a surgical focus or prefer consultation-based work.
Typically, full-time hours consist of working four days a week between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm. Remote phone cover is required by the duty vet for one hour after hours, with a Registered Veterinary Nurse on site until 7pm. Weekend rotas are 1:4 Saturdays, carrying out consultations between 9am and 1pm when Vets Now take over. The practice is flexible about adjusting patterns to suit your needs, whether that's reduced hours, school drop-off commitments, or a different rota structure altogether.
Located in Pershore on the edge of the Cotswolds, the practice offers excellent transport links: 40 minutes to Bristol or Birmingham, and 90 minutes to London. The area suits those who enjoy outdoor pursuits and easy access to vibrant cities.
Martin and Carr Veterinary Surgeons is part of the Vet Care network and part of IVC Evidensia, the UK's largest vet care provider. The practice is a Tier 2 RCVS accredited surgery with a highly dedicated team of nine experienced veterinary surgeons and one second-year graduate, supported by excellent RVNs, SVNs, and wider support staff. The clinical team includes specialists with diverse interests and qualifications: an RCVS Recognised Advanced Practitioner in general small animal surgery, certificate holders in small animal medicine and endoscopy, a vet who practises acupuncture with interest in animal behaviour, and another vet with a PhD in nematodes. The Head Nurse holds a CertVN ECC alongside certificates in analgesia and anaesthesia.
The surgery offers advanced diagnostic facilities including digital radiography, ultrasonography, and endoscopy. An onsite laboratory allows most blood samples to be analysed on the same day. The practice delivers a full range of clinical services from preventative healthcare through to complex medical, surgical, and orthopaedic procedures.
