Veterinary Surgeon

About the Role

This is a small animal Veterinary Surgeon role with a varied first opinion caseload across Midforest Veterinary Practice in West Totton and Lyndhurst. You will see cats, dogs, rabbits and guinea pigs, with a good mix of consultations, surgery and medical work ups.

The full time working pattern is four 10 hour days, plus 1:5 Saturday mornings from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Those Saturday mornings are worked as sole charge. There are no out of hours or on call commitments.

You will have the chance to follow your own cases, build relationships with clients and their pets, and develop clinical interests with support from colleagues who already include certificate holders in ultrasound and dentistry.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver first opinion small animal care across the Totton and Lyndhurst practices.
• Manage a varied caseload of consultations, surgery and medical work ups.
• Follow cases through and build ongoing relationships with clients and their pets.
• Work Saturday mornings on a 1:5 rota, with sole charge from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
• Contribute to clinical work alongside four Veterinary Surgeons, six experienced RVNs and the Client Care Team.
• Use the practice facilities, including digital and dental radiography, ultrasound and the in house laboratory.

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon.
• Interest in small animal first opinion practice.
• Ability to work sole charge on Saturday mornings.
• Willingness to develop clinical interests with team support.

Midforest Veterinary Practice is part of IVC Evidensia and has been part of the local community for over 40 years. The advert describes a friendly team culture, with four Veterinary Surgeons, six experienced RVNs and a dedicated Client Care Team.

The practice works across two sites and is equipped with digital and dental radiography, ultrasound and a fully equipped in house laboratory. It treats dogs, cats and small pets, and is rabbit friendly.
