This Graduate Veterinary Surgeon position is based at one of the community practices in Haverhill, Newmarket or Long Melford, with one day each week spent at the hospital site in Bury St Edmunds. It is a small animal role with exposure to a varied caseload, including daytime weekend work that brings emergency cases into the rota, followed by time off afterwards.
The role is designed for new or recent graduates who want supportive development in general practice. You will have an on-site VetGDP mentor at your home practice, with backing to build both medical and surgical confidence, and the team encourages vets to pursue areas of interest and, over time, certificate study.

The practices are equipped with operating theatres, x-ray, ultrasound and in-house labs. The hospital in Bury St Edmunds also has endoscopy and CT on site, and accepts certificate-level referrals in internal medicine, orthopaedic surgery, imaging and cardiology. The practice runs its own out-of-hours service and also provides cover for a number of other local clinics.
