About the Role

This Veterinary Surgeon role is based at Knaphill Vets, a small animal practice in Knaphill, Woking. The practice describes itself as one of Surrey's newest and fastest-growing veterinary practices, with the warmth and autonomy of an independent practice supported by the wider Kin Vet Community network.

You will be joining a confident first opinion team that manages routine consultations, surgery, diagnostics and complex medical work-ups. The caseload includes advanced soft tissue procedures such as liver lobectomies and splenectomies, and the practice uses a CT scanner routinely alongside high-quality ultrasound, modern diagnostic equipment and excellent surgical facilities.

The role is designed around the right person, with a 4-day working week from 8:30am to 6:30pm and a 1 in 3 Saturday morning rota from 8:30am to 12:30pm. Protected time is built into the day, including a 40-minute lunch break, a 40-minute admin break each morning and a 40-minute admin break each afternoon.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out first opinion consultations, surgery, diagnostics and complex medical work-ups.
• Manage a varied small animal caseload with support from a team of three Veterinary Surgeons.
• Perform and contribute to advanced soft tissue surgery, including liver lobectomies and splenectomies.
• Work with CT, ultrasound, modern diagnostic equipment and surgical facilities.
• Build trusted client relationships through clear communication and continuity of care.
• Contribute positively to a collaborative team culture and shared case discussion.

Requirements

• MRCVS Veterinary Surgeon.
• Experience in first opinion practice.
• Confidence managing a varied medical and surgical caseload.
• Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues.
• Positive, approachable and enthusiastic approach.
