About the Role

Kingston Vets is seeking a motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join their established small animal practice in Yeovil, Somerset. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with a 1:4 Saturday morning rota—offering genuine work-life balance within a supportive clinical environment. You’ll work predominantly from the modern Yeovil site, with flexibility to support the Sherborne location when needed.

You’ll be part of a well-resourced practice with state-of-the-art facilities including dedicated dental and imaging suites, separate cat, dog and isolation facilities, and a purpose-built nurses office where the team can recharge. The practice operates across two Somerset and Dorset locations, both part of IVC Evidensia, the UK and Europe’s leading veterinary care group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing support to veterinary surgeons in theatre and during consultations
  • Manage inpatient care and monitor anaesthetics throughout procedures
  • Conduct patient admits, discharges, and nurse-led consultations
  • Maintain high clinical nursing standards and contribute to ongoing practice development
  • Build strong relationships with clients and work collaboratively with the wider team

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build positive client and colleague relationships
  • Good organisational skills with ability to manage workload effectively
  • Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous professional development

Kingston Veterinary Group is a long-established, purpose-built mixed practice operating across two locations in Somerset and Dorset.
