About the Role

You’ll be joining Knox & Devlin’s small animal team as a Registered Veterinary Nurse on a maternity cover contract (9–12 months, starting the beginning of May). This full-time position is based in Whaley Bridge, a friendly village on the edge of the Peak District with easy access to countryside and convenient links to Manchester by bus and train—perfect if you value work-life balance and outdoor interests.

As part of a first opinion practice, you’ll be at the heart of patient care: monitoring health, supporting recovery, and building trust with clients. No two days will be identical. Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional nursing care to patients and provide reassurance to their owners
  • Support all aspects of clinical work as part of the team, from pre- and post-operative care to monitoring and patient recovery
  • Maintain the highest standards of practice cleanliness and organisation to ensure quality outcomes
  • Communicate confidently with colleagues, clients, and patients to build strong, lasting relationships
  • Take advantage of ongoing training and development opportunities to progress your nursing career
  • Contribute to a positive, friendly, and supportive team environment

Requirements

  • Current RCVS registration as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Passion for delivering high-quality patient care
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
