Night Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role

Anderson Moores Veterinary Specialists is recruiting an RVN for a permanent, part-time position working nights in their Winchester facility. You'll work Thursday and Friday nights plus a 1 in 3 Wednesday night shift, with additional 1 in 3 Saturday night shifts and bank holiday rotation. This is a true night nursing role in a 24/7 specialist referral hospital setting.

As a night nurse, you'll be based primarily in the wards, providing high-quality patient care during recovery periods. You'll work with a wonderful team including supportive nursing assistants and will collaborate closely with clinicians, anaesthetists, and day teams to ensure seamless continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialist nursing care to post-operative and medical patients in the ward environment
• Administer specialised diets, medications, and pain relief protocols tailored to individual patients
• Manage catheters, drains, and wound care with meticulous attention to detail
• Deliver physiotherapy and mental stimulation to support patient recovery
• Work collaboratively with night clinicians, anaesthetists, and patient care assistants to maintain highest care standards
• Maintain detailed patient records and communicate effectively with day nursing teams at handover
• Support the referral hospital's commitment to excellence across orthopaedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, neurology, internal medicine, dentistry, cardiology, anaesthesia, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, oncology, physiotherapy, ophthalmology, and pain management

Requirements

• Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification
• Proven experience in a night nursing or similar hospital role
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work confidently in a busy environment
• Proactive, 'can do' attitude and commitment to high standards
• Right to work in the UK
