About the Role
You'll be joining Luxstowe Vets' small animal practice in the charming market town of Liskeard, Cornwall, as part of a genuinely varied nursing role that spans all areas of the practice. This is full-time work (40 hours over 5 days), though part-time arrangements can be discussed for the right candidate. You'll participate in the practice's own out-of-hours service with a manageable 1:7 weekly rota, including Saturday mornings and on-call duties from home with daytime rest periods built in during the week.
What sets this role apart is the culture: you'll work somewhere that recognises nursing expertise and gives you the space, equipment, and support to do your job properly. The practice is RCVS-accredited for training and offers clear pathways to develop as a Clinical Coach if that appeals to you.

About the Practice
Luxstowe Vets in Liskeard is an RCVS-accredited small animal practice offering a broad and interesting caseload, supported by modern facilities and additional specialist equipment. The team comprises 3 Senior Veterinary Nurses, 10 RVNs, and 11 vets, with an average of 15 years' experience across the board (ranging from 2 to 31 years). The practice was the first in Cornwall to perform laparoscopic spays and now carries out in-house orthopaedics including TPLOs, TTAs, CCWOs, and fracture repairs.
One vet holds a surgery certificate, with several others actively pursuing further qualifications in surgery, medicine, dermatology, and ophthalmology—creating a strong learning environment for all team members. The practice is part of the VetPartners family and operates its own out-of-hours service. Leadership has received the highest three-star rating from Best Companies, an independent employee feedback assessor, reflecting genuine team satisfaction. A new practice build is underway later this year.
