MBM Veterinary Group is a long-established veterinary practice with over a century of roots in Ayrshire. The group was formed in May 2014 following a merger, bringing together McKenzie Bryson and Marshall (established 1913 in Kilmarnock) and Barr and MacMillan (established 1957 in Mauchline). The Kilmarnock premises, built in 1833 and substantially extended in 2004, features excellent small animal facilities and a purpose-built equine clinic with in-patient area and surgical theatre. The Beith branch relocated to new premises on Kings Street with a modern surgical facility, and Mauchline operates from fully re-equipped premises on Kilmarnock Road.
The practice provides comprehensive small animal, equine, and farm animal services across three sites. The small animal team comprises 20 veterinary surgeons (including certificate holders and those pursuing further qualifications in Surgery and Internal Medicine), 16 registered veterinary nurses, 4 animal nursing assistants, and 14 reception staff. The practice is committed to high standards of patient care and clinical excellence, offering in-house medical and surgical services with strong referral networks. The group values a people-first approach, investing in staff development, wellbeing, and work-life balance.
