About the Role

Join the friendly team at Medivet Rustington, a well-equipped practice nestled in a charming coastal village near beautiful beaches and the South Downs National Park. This part-time role (24 hours per week) offers excellent work-life balance while keeping you engaged with a varied caseload across surgery, diagnostics, client education, and inpatient care.

The practice is modern and collaborative, with digital x-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab, dental suite, and dedicated surgical theatre. You’ll be working alongside a supportive team where your nursing expertise is valued and your professional development is encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional patient and client care across all general practice areas
• Support surgical and procedural work, managing all pre- and post-operative activity
• Conduct nurse-led appointments and schedule 3 activities
• Provide patient monitoring and ongoing inpatient care
• Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers to out-of-hours or enhanced care facilities
• Dispense and check medication accurately
• Lead team briefings to coordinate practice operations effectively
• Maintain compliance with all regulatory, practice, and operational standards

Requirements

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse
• Minimum 2 years’ fully qualified UK experience
• Demonstrable experience delivering exceptional patient and client care
• Proven ability to work effectively as part of a cohesive team
• Competence supporting nurse-led consultations with understanding of practice performance implications
• Coaching and influencing skills to bring out the best in colleagues

Schedule

• Monday: 8:30–14:00
• Tuesday: Off
• Wednesday: 8:30–14:00 (alternating weeks 8:30–13:00)
• Thursday: 11:00–19:00
• Friday: 8:30–13:00 (alternating weeks 11:00–19:00)
