About the Role

Wokingham 24 Hour is seeking a Senior Nurse to support the Head Nurse with the management of the clinical nursing team and the day to day running of clinical operations. You'll be accountable for the delivery of nurse led appointments, support the vet team with procedures as needed, and help keep standards high across care, compliance and operations.

This is a senior role with real responsibility for guiding the environment in a fair but firm way. Shifts are 8 hours excluding lunch, and the rota includes every 4th weekend, either a Saturday or a Sunday, with a day off in lieu or the option to have the day paid. There is also an on-call rota, which can be discussed at interview. The practice is based in Wokingham, a leafy market town, just outside the main hub and close to plenty of parking.

The team describes itself as busy, growing and supported by a lovely client base. The practice also supports surrounding Medivet branches and a non-Medivet independent vets service, and values the relationships it builds with clients, patients and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Nurse with oversight of the clinical nursing team and daily clinical operations.
• Account for the clinical delivery of nurse led appointments.
• Assist the vet team with procedures when needed.
• Monitor stock levels and support cost aware stock management.
• Deliver patient monitoring, admissions and discharges.
• Carry out consult support, surgeries and procedures within regulatory, practice and operational standards.
• Work collaboratively with the wider team to provide excellent client and patient care.

Requirements

• RCVS registered Veterinary Nurse.
• Confidence to lead by example and guide the team.
• Good work ethic and a team focused approach.
• Willingness to help manage the environment in a fair but firm way.
• A sense of humour and a genuine focus on putting animals first.

Wokingham 24 Hour is a busy, growing 24 hour practice based in Wokingham. The practice is positioned just outside the main hub of the town in a leafy residential area, with plenty of parking and a pub opposite.
