About the Role

This is a part-time opportunity across two complementary practices in South Wales. You’ll work Mondays and Tuesdays at Aberdare, a welcoming community clinic in the heart of the Cynon Valley, then Fridays at Merthyr Tydfil, a busier first-opinion practice handling a high volume of emergency and critical care cases. With 1 in 4 Saturday cover, you’ll enjoy genuine work-life balance while staying clinically engaged.

You’ll partner closely with a Branch Partner and a supportive team of vets committed to high standards. The nursing team actively undertakes Schedule 3 procedures, giving you collaborative colleagues who share the load. Merthyr Tydfil’s spacious facilities include three consulting rooms, a full operating theatre, and imaging room, with VVS on-call for additional ultrasound support when needed. Aberdare offers a loyal client base in a lovely area with easy access to wider South Wales—perfect for those seeking community practice warmth without the chaos.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-standard clinical care in consultations and surgical procedures, maintaining regulatory, practice, and operational compliance
• Develop tailored treatment plans in partnership with clients
• Collaborate within a supportive team across both sites
• Share your expertise and contribute to the wider Medivet clinical community
• Support the nursing team in delivering comprehensive patient care

Requirements

• Qualified MRCVS with passion for clinical excellence and client care
• Proven experience in small animal practice (surgery and medicine)
• Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Commitment to high standards of patient and client care
