Medivet Dorchester is a busy 24-hour veterinary hospital serving a five-practice regional network, offering everything from routine first opinion care to advanced surgical and emergency cases. You will join a highly skilled team with certificate holders across cardiology, diagnostic imaging, internal medicine, dermatology, and emergency and critical care, creating an environment where learning and collaboration thrive.
This full-time position (with part-time options available) is based in Dorchester, Dorset, close to the Jurassic Coast's attractions and countryside calm. The role involves a 1-in-6 weekend rota, which is considered a core part of the fair rostering across the team. You will deliver consultations, surgical care, and inpatient management, supported by experienced colleagues on both routine and complex cases.
Medivet Dorchester is a 24-hour veterinary hospital providing out-of-hours and first opinion care across a five-practice regional network. The hospital is fully equipped with advanced facilities including CT scanner, laparoscopic suite, digital x-ray and ultrasound, dental x-ray, endoscopy, two sterile surgical suites, dedicated in-house laboratory, hydrotherapy unit (staffed two days weekly), peripatetic physiotherapist support, and isolation facilities. The hospital maintains separate dog and cat wards with ISFM Silver Cat Friendly status and provides 24/7 emergency care supported by an ECC-certified night vet and experienced nursing team.
