Part-time out-of-hours position working average 12 hours per week, every other Saturday & Sunday 10am–10pm on a one-week-on, one-week-off rotating basis.
This is a part-time position offering an average of 12 hours per week, working every other Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 10pm on a rotating one-week-on, one-week-off basis. You’ll be joining MiNightVet Chester, an out-of-hours service that brings together first-opinion cases, referral work, and emergency & critical care under a single hospital roof—a rare combination that gives you genuine breadth of clinical exposure.
Your day-to-day work will span inpatient care, triage, and anaesthesia support, all delivered as part of a collaborative team that includes a veterinary surgeon and practice care assistant. You’ll benefit from close working relationships with specialists in ophthalmology, orthopaedics, cardiology, and other advanced fields, creating the kind of learning environment that typically only exists in larger referral centres. This role is ideal for an RVN who’s passionate about out-of-hours work and keen to develop emergency and critical care expertise.
MiNightVet Chester is part of CVS Group, one of the UK’s largest veterinary care providers. The practice operates as an out-of-hours and emergency service, uniquely combining first-opinion care, specialist referral work, and emergency & critical care provision within one facility. This integrated model creates exceptional learning opportunities and exposure to diverse clinical disciplines.
CVS is committed to supporting its people through comprehensive professional development, mentoring, and wellbeing initiatives. The group invests significantly in facility improvements and operational support, with dedicated central teams handling HR, IT, finance, and procurement to free up clinical staff to focus on patient care. With a nationwide network of Wellbeing Champions and regular line-manager support, CVS prioritises creating an inclusive, supportive workplace culture.
