Veterinary Receptionist

About the Role

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients at Park Issa Vets, creating a warm, professional welcome that sets the tone for every visit. This part-time permanent role offers genuine flexibility: 30 hours per week across 4 days (8:30am–5:00pm), with Saturday cover on a 1:4 rota so you’re not working every weekend.

The practice operates from two locations—the main tier three hospital in Oswestry and a branch in Rhos—both RCVS accredited. You’ll be managing appointments, fielding enquiries, and coordinating communications between clients and the clinical team, all while supporting a genuinely collaborative workplace where your contribution makes a real difference.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet clients warmly and manage the appointment diary to keep the practice running smoothly
• Handle client enquiries, bookings, and phone communications with professionalism and empathy
• Support clinical and non-clinical colleagues to deliver a positive experience for both clients and patients
• Work across both the Oswestry and Rhos practice sites as required
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy, fast-paced environment
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to practice admin as needed

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills and a naturally friendly, professional manner
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role with a strong focus on service quality
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks without losing attention to detail
• A collaborative mindset and genuine willingness to support teammates
• Proactive approach with openness to feedback and continuous learning

About the Practice

Park Issa Veterinary Hospital is a tier three RCVS-accredited practice based in Oswestry, with a sister practice in Rhos and a recently relocated branch (New Foundry) in Johnstown. The main hospital features two separate waiting rooms designed to keep nervous animals calm, modern prep facilities, dedicated dog and cat kennels with climate control, vet beds for patient comfort, and a spacious garden for exercising inpatients.
