About the Role
You'll join PDSA Margate as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in a full-time permanent position. This is a 40-hour week role with flexible working options to suit your lifestyle. The work is diverse and rewarding. You'll deliver nurse consultations, manage inpatient care, dispense medications, and assist in theatre including Schedule 3 surgery. Your day involves keeping pets calm, keeping owners informed, and working as part of a collaborative, close-knit team in a modern, well-equipped hospital.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct nurse consultations and provide high-standard nursing care
- Manage inpatient care and monitor recovery
- Dispense medications accurately
- Assist in theatre procedures, including orthopaedic and Schedule 3 surgery
- Operate and maintain in-house diagnostic equipment: radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy
- Support and mentor team members, leading by example in a busy environment
- Contribute to practice efficiencies and suggest improvements to resource use
- Champion the charity's mission and promote client engagement with PDSA services
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) qualification and current RCVS registration
- Confident communication with colleagues and clients
- Ability to adapt to a wide variety of cases and clinical situations
- Passion for animal welfare and charity values
- Comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

About the Practice
PDSA Margate is a modern, collaborative pet hospital and part of PDSA, a charity providing veterinary care for pets of people in financial hardship for over 100 years. The practice has separate dog and cat kennelling facilities, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases, and extensive orthopaedic equipment.
