About the Role

You'll join a friendly, collaborative team at PDSA's Manchester pet hospital, seeing a wide range of medical and surgical cases that will challenge and develop your skills. This is a full-time permanent role with a structured schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, with theatre shifts on a rota basis (8:30am to 5:00pm or 10:00am to 6:30pm). The hospital is modern and well-equipped, with separate dog and cat kennelling, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases and extensive orthopaedic equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based veterinary care to small animal patients with diverse medical and surgical presentations
• Make sound clinical decisions and discuss realistic treatment options with clients, balancing best practice with individual circumstances
• Participate in theatre shifts on a rota basis as part of the surgical team
• Collaborate with colleagues on case discussion, treatment planning and shared learning
• Champion PDSA's mission and contribute to continuous improvement of services
• Build strong, trusting relationships with clients and support the wider hospital team

Requirements

• Qualified Veterinary Surgeon with valid RCVS registration
• Clinical confidence and sound decision-making skills
• Adaptability and resilience to handle a diverse caseload
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Team player with a collaborative approach to work
• Pragmatic, welfare-focused mindset in clinical practice
