About the Role
PDSA is recruiting experienced veterinary surgeons across multiple UK locations: Swansea (Wales), Gillingham (Kent), and Margate (Kent). This full-time, permanent position offers 37.5 hours per week (40 hours at Margate) with comprehensive support for those considering relocation.
You'll work with a diverse caseload of medical and surgical cases, seeing pets whose owners face genuine financial hardship. No two days are the same, and your clinical decisions directly improve animal welfare and strengthen the human-animal bond in communities that need it most. This is small animal practice with genuine purpose.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality clinical care across a range of medical and surgical cases
- Communicate sensitively with clients about realistic treatment options, balancing best practice with their circumstances
- Make evidence-based clinical decisions with pragmatism and welfare as your guide
- Work collaboratively with experienced, caring colleagues to maintain continuous service improvement
- Champion PDSA's mission and contribute to building stronger community relationships
- Support colleagues through knowledge-sharing and collaborative problem-solving
Requirements
- Qualified Veterinary Surgeon (MRCVS registration with RCVS)
- Clinical experience and confidence managing diverse small animal cases
- Adaptability and resilience to handle varied caseloads and client circumstances
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build trust with clients
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative, supportive environment
- Willingness to relocate (relocation support provided)
