About the Role

You’ll join Pride Veterinary Referral Centre, a busy multidisciplinary referral hospital in Derbyshire, for a comprehensive 12-month rotating internship. This programme is designed to build your clinical confidence and deepen your understanding of evidence-based veterinary medicine through hands-on experience across multiple disciplines.

The rotating internship exposes you to a range of specialities including Surgery, Internal Medicine, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Anaesthesia, and Diagnostic Imaging. You’ll work alongside experienced veterinary surgeons, nurses, and support teams, with exposure to out-of-hours work through weekends and nights, all supported by residents and senior clinicians. This is a full-time position offering structured clinical development in a values-led, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in ward rounds, case discussions, and clinical governance activities
  • Deliver high-quality patient and client care under the supervision of senior clinicians
  • Contribute to a multidisciplinary team managing complex referral cases
  • Engage in teaching sessions, journal clubs, and evidence-based learning opportunities
  • Support the clinical team across rotating disciplines to gain broad exposure
  • Develop practical skills in a busy referral hospital environment

Requirements

  • Veterinary degree and current RCVS registration
  • Experience working as part of a clinical veterinary team
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
  • Clear, confident communication with a collaborative approach to teamwork
  • Genuine interest in evidence-based veterinary medicine and clinical best practice
  • Professionalism, resilience, and the ability to remain calm in a busy clinical environment
  • Positive, proactive attitude to learning and development
