The role offers genuine variety and exposure to advanced caseload—orthopaedic surgery, soft tissue procedures, ophthalmology, internal medicine diagnostics—with access to cutting-edge equipment including MRI and CT scanning. You’ll be part of a dedicated evening team that handles admissions, stabilisation of emergency cases, theatre support, and high-quality inpatient care.

  • Deliver comprehensive inpatient ward care and monitoring
  • Support the out-of-hours team with emergency case admissions and patient stabilisation
  • Work with advanced orthopaedic, soft tissue, ophthalmology and internal medicine cases

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
  • Confident, compassionate approach to patient and client care
  • Comfort working in fast-paced hospital environments with complex cases
  • Competence in anaesthesia monitoring and support
  • Commitment to delivering consistently high standards of nursing care
  • Experience in referral or emergency work is advantageous but not essential for candidates with strong core nursing skills

Benefits

  • Annual Leave: 6.6 weeks paid holiday plus your birthday as a paid day off, with increasing allowance based on length of service
  • CPD & Development: £550 annual CPD allowance with 24 hours paid professional development leave (pro rata), certificate support, and access to the IVC Evidensia Academy and Vetlexicon online resource
  • Health & Wellbeing: Private Medical Insurance, enhanced family-friendly policies (maternity, paternity, adoption, shared parental and surrogacy pay), cycle to work scheme, discounted gym membership, and non-accidental injury support
  • Professional Support: VDS cover and RCVS fees paid
  • Pension: 5% employee and 3% employer contribution scheme
