Registered Veterinary Nurse - Small Animal

About the Role

Straid Veterinary Clinic is seeking an enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its dedicated nursing team in Beaconsfield. This full-time role (40 hours per week) includes 1:4 Saturday mornings, offering a manageable rota within a warm, welcoming community practice that has served local pets and their owners for over 100 years.

You'll contribute to high-quality patient care across consultations, theatre work, inpatient care, and diagnostics. The clinic is well-equipped with ultrasound, DR x-ray, dental x-ray, a fully equipped laboratory, three consulting rooms, and a theatre where both orthopaedic and advanced soft tissue procedures are performed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients across first opinion cases
• Collaborate with veterinary surgeons and the practice team on clinical standards and patient care development
• Support consultations, theatre work, inpatient monitoring, and diagnostic procedures
• Maintain excellent standards and contribute to the smooth running of the practice
• Build positive relationships with clients and colleagues

Requirements

• Registration as a Veterinary Nurse with the RCVS
• Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in medical and surgical nursing
• Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships
• Good organisational skills and effective workload management
• Proactive approach to learning, reflection, and continuous improvement
• Team-orientated and confident in delivering high standards of care
