A four day week, a broad farm caseload and a supportive out of hours rota make this an appealing step for an experienced farm vet. You'll also have the chance to build lasting client relationships and act as the primary vet for a number of dairy herds.
1 in 8 first on call and 1 in 16 second on call, with support available through the night and early hours.
Torch Farm & Equine Vets is seeking an experienced Farm Vet to join its established farm team. This role gives you the autonomy to develop long term client relationships, while acting as the primary vet for a number of dairy herds.
The caseload is varied, ranging from intensive 1,000 cow dairy herds to smallholders. The practice also offers a four day week as standard, introduced in 2019, alongside a supportive out of hours rota with 1 in 8 first on call and 1 in 16 second on call.
You'll be joining an independent, vet owned practice that is part of the XLVets community, combining close local connections with shared expertise across a wider network.
Torch Farm & Equine Vets is an independent, vet owned practice and an XLVets member practice. The team includes seven certificate holders in sheep and cattle, three DBRs, four PGCert holders, four qTUS trained lung scanners and one FRCVS.
The practice encourages clinical learning through fortnightly vet meetings, bi monthly location meetings and a monthly journal club. It also supports RVC tracking students and takes part in the RVC internship and residency programme, alongside TorchSkills courses and farming events.
