Clinician in Small Animal Medicine

About the Role

The University of Glasgow's School of Biodiversity, One Health and Veterinary Medicine is seeking a clinician to join the Small Animal Medicine team at their award-winning hospital. This full-time position (35 hours per week) offers a unique blend of clinical practice, research and scholarship, and clinical teaching to undergraduates, interns and residents.

You'll be working on the beautiful Garscube estate, just 10 minutes' drive from Glasgow's vibrant West End and less than one hour from Loch Lomond. The role sits within a friendly, supportive multidisciplinary team that emphasises collegial working and exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to small animal patients using state-of-the-art facilities
• Contribute to clinical teaching for undergraduate students, interns and residents
• Pursue research and scholarship activities as part of your 'off clinics' time
• Work collaboratively within the 'One Hospital' team ethos to support professional development of vets, nurses and support staff
• Utilise advanced diagnostic and therapeutic equipment including 1.5T MRI, CT, C-arm fluoroscopy, endoscopy, linear accelerator and radio-iodine unit

Requirements

• ECVIM (European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine) or ACVIM (American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine) diploma, or completed approved residency training programme
• RCVS registration as a veterinary surgeon
• Ability to work collaboratively in a collegial team environment
• Interest in gastroenterology advantageous

• Salary: Grade 7/8, £41,064 to £46,049 or £50,253 to £58,225 per annum (depending on experience), plus additional generous market and out-of-hours supplement
