1:15 weeks as second on-call
Coastway Vets is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join its Brighton Veterinary Hospital, where the focus is on hospital work, clinical development and team collaboration. The role brings a varied caseload, from emergency presentations through to more complex medical cases referred in from the branch network and neighbouring practices.
You’ll be working in an RCVS-accredited hospital with excellent diagnostic facilities and experienced colleagues around you. The setting is designed to support high-quality patient care, while giving you room to develop your own clinical interests.
The rota is clear and structured, with 40 hours per week across four days, one set day off each week, 1:5 full weekends with a day off in lieu, and 1:15 weeks as second on-call.
Coastway Vets has served the region’s pets for 45 years and is a large, RCVS-accredited practice with five fully equipped branch practices alongside its central Brighton hospital. The practice also runs the region’s biggest emergency veterinary service, creating a diverse and interesting caseload.
The Brighton hospital includes CT, ultrasound, digital X-ray, laparoscopy, rigid and flexible endoscopy, and a fully equipped in-house laboratory. Separate wards are in place for cats, dogs, exotics, isolation and day procedures. The wider team includes 17 day vets, 5 dedicated night vets, multiple certificate holders across ECC, medicine, surgery, cardiology, imaging, exotics and oncology, plus a visiting ophthalmologist every two weeks and an orthopaedic surgeon twice a week.
